The Right Tools for the Job
Our shared web hosting servers run CloudLinux 7 and 8, Apache or Litespeed , MySQL version 5.7 or MariaDB and multiple user-selected versions of PHP. CloudLinux is a commercially supported, RedHat based operating system that is designed for shared hosting environments. CloudLinux creates a lightweight virtual environment (LVE) for each individual account on a shared server and allows us to limit the amount of resources any single account can use. No more can someone take over the whole CPU on a server causing problems for other users and more support calls for us. Using CloudLinux also allows us to provide many versions of PHP that are selectable from the cPanel control panel.

Using the Softaculous Auto Installer within cPanel one can install popular web applications like Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, PrestaShop, MediaWiki and others.
CloudLinux
CloudLinux is a Linux based operating system that creates a stable hosting environment for all of our shared hosting customers. It is able to keep a single account from overwhelming a server and causing slow performance or downtime.
With CloudLinux we can limit the amount of CPU, memory, I/O, and concurrent connections that a hosting account can use. It also alows us to isolate hosting accounts from each other.

JetBackup 5
JetBackup's self service functionality allows end users to restore an account within seconds. Merge restore with live data so you don't lose new emails and restore unique portions of an account (databases, email, etc.). 10 daily backups are kept along with one monthly snapshot. Backups are stored remotely on an S3-compatible system.
MailChannels Email Filtering
Hosting Nation uses MailChannels Outbound Filtering on all shared hosting servers. It is a cloud-based email sending service which identifies and blocks spammers to ensure reliable email delivery. With Outbound Filtering, we eliminate email delivery problems caused by IP address blacklisting.

Litespeed webserver
LiteSpeed Web Server is a high-performance commercial server solution which is perfectly compatible with the web technology of Apache. It is up to 900% faster than Apache when serving static content and up to 50% faster when serving PHP requests. Its integrated Wordpress cache can speed up Wordpress sites for better performance.
